BOON TOWNSHIP, MI -- On Monday, Dec. 1, there was a bluish-green message that appeared to be spray-painted on heavy, white snow at the edge of a Manistee National Forest in Boon.
“Justice 4 Rebecca.”
Two empty energy drink cans lay in the snow nearby.
For weeks, this heavily forested and sparsely populated section of northern Michigan near Cadillac in Wexford County has been at the center of a mystery, online rumors, small-town gossip, searches and accusations.
Not far from the snow-scrawled message is the place volunteer searchers found the body of 22-year-old Rebecca Park on Nov. 25. She vanished on Nov. 3 while pregnant.
Her baby has never been found.
