A mother and her 25-year-old son are dead after a fire raged through a home in Long Island. In her final moments, the woman raced to save her son after saving her elderly landlord.
On Sunday, Nov. 30, firefighters responded to a residential fire at 178 Fifty Acre Road South in Smithtown. When they arrived, the first floor of the building was engulfed in flames and had spread to the second floor, the St. James Volunteer Fire Department wrote in a news release . After a resident told the first responders that two people were trapped on the second floor
