A wrong-way driver was charged with DUI over the weekend in South Windsor.
An officer who was in the area of Route 5 and Chapel Road spotted the driver going south in the northbound lanes on Saturday shortly after 5 a.m., according to Lt. Mark Cleverdon of the South Windsor Police Department .
The officer was able to catch up to the wrong-way driver and pull the vehicle over, Cleverdon said. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Aisha M. Haidara of Simsbury, was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, according to Cleverdon.
