COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A shooting in the Midlands left a man dead on Thanksgiving, according to authorities.

Richland County Coroner Nadia Rutherford said Tuesday that 65-year-old Perry Richardson died after a shooting on Nov. 27 on Fairfield Road.

According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to reports of shots fired and found Richardson inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.

RCSD said Richardson was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Rutherford added that her office is working with the sheriff’s department to investigate the shooting.
