Coronation Street ’s Roy Cropper ( David Neilson ) has got us all intrigued with his latest pen pal dilemma.

As viewers will know, Roy has been writing to convicts , having learnt first-hand how lonely prison can be.

He was also recently contacted by the mother of one of his pen pals, thanking him for contacting her son.

Roy has since kept in touch with the woman, and last night we discovered that her name is Alice .

Things have grown complicated between them, with Alice having started to add romantic undertones to her letters, leaving Roy rattled.

Before Alice’s name was revealed, fans suspected that she could be an Emmerdale character, ahead of the upcoming Corriedale crossover event.

This special episode will see characters from both Coronation Street and Emmerdale c
