A memorial was being held Tuesday for a Florida deputy who was shot and killed while serving an eviction notice last month.
The memorial for Indian River County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Terri Sweeting-Mashkow was being held in Vero Beach.
Sweeti-Mashkow, a 25-year veteran of the agency, was killed when the man who was being evicted opened fire back on Nov. 21. Indian River County Sheriff's Office
Another deputy, Florentino Arizpe, who was shot in the shoulder, was treated and released from the hospital.
A locksmith who was helping the deputies, 76-year-old David Long, was also shot and later died from his injuries.
The man being evicted, Michael Halberstam, was shot by deputies who returned fire and died from his wounds the next day .
