Roadway conditions have kept schools closed Tuesday in Columbia and Boone County.
School districts throughout the county made announcements late Monday about the closures.
Anywhere from 3 to 5 inches of snow fell across the region Monday, leading many schools to close early that day. Road conditions worsened throughout the morning and day, leading to at least one crash and closure of an eastbound Interstate 70 exit ramp in Columbia. The closure lasted roughly 30 minutes.
I-70 in Boone County was mostly clear in Columbia and Boone County as of 8 a.m. Dec. 2, though other routes maintained by the Missouri Department of Transportation still were considered partly covered, per the MoDOT traveler information map.
