Simon Cowell ’s friendship with Ryan Seacrest didn’t make it past Hollywood.

Indeed, the former American Idol judge, who appeared on the show from its debut in 2002 until his departure in 2010, shared that he and the longtime host haven’t kept in touch.

“I don’t follow his career if I’m being honest with you,” Simon told the New York Times in an interview published Nov. 29. “So, I don’t know what he’s done or doing. We rarely talk now if I’m being honest with you.”

Despite not maintaining his friendship with Ryan in the 15 years since leaving the judges’ panel, the 66-year-old had nothing but praise for the Wheel of Fortune host for how he conducted himself when they were on Idol together.
