Hermon —This looks like a heck of a lot of fun.
Arroyo Seco Park is getting a set of "pumptracks"— looping bike courses made up of small hills and banked turns that riders navigate by “pumping” their bodies rather than pedaling. A pumptrack locator shows no other such track in the city of Los Angeles.
One of the new tracks is a sort of three-cornered loop with four curves; one is a horseshoe loop with five curves; and two are parallel straightaways.
The bike park is on the 6700 block of Marmion Way, near the South Pasadena border. Though the pumptracks are still fenced in and apparently not completed, people have already been trying them out on bikes and skateboards.
This is part of the city Department of Recreation and Parks' $3.4 million Avenue 64 Playground Replacement
