Actor and Michigan native Dave Coulier has received a new cancer diagnosis, months after beating a different form of the disease.

The actor and comedian from metro Detroit announced during a recent appearance on the TODAY show that he has been diagnosed with p16 squamous cell carcinoma on his tongue.

In a TODAY show segment that aired on Dec. 2, Coulier said, "To go through chemotherapy and feel that relief of whoah, it’s gone, and then to get a test that says, well now you’ve got another kind of cancer ... it is a shock to the system."
