Buddhist monks on a 120-day “Walk for Peace” have reached Louisiana as part of their 2,300-mile walk to Washington, D.C.
Traveling with their dog, Aloka, more than a dozen monks are making their way from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C. to “raise awareness of peace, loving-kindness, and compassion across America and the world,” according to the Walk for Peace Facebook page.
On Tuesday morning, the the group continued their walk into Alexandria as they headed toward Pineville.
They noted on social media that today is a meaningful stop with plans to gather with the community for a Peace Gathering in Rapides Parish.
“It is really cold this morning. We just stopped at a gas station for a break and are now heading to Main St. Buddha Garden and Kees Park for the Peace Gathering,” said
