"Stranger Things" is approaching its end nearly 10 years after it premiered and fans of the beloved Netflix series will be able to see its conclusion on the big screen.
With the first four episodes of the fifth and final season released the day before Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, some fans are already eagerly awaiting the next drop of episodes, which are set to be released on Christmas. The series is slated to wrap up on New Year's Eve in a two-hour-long finale.
Fans who have followed the Hellfire Club's adventures since the beginning don't need to stay home to catch the final episode. A select number of movie theaters are screening the finale during a special event on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, 2026, with tickets available Dec. 2.
If you're looking to see the conclusion in theaters, here's what you need to know about the finale screenings.
What theaters are showing 'Stranger Things 5: The Finale'?
Over 350 theaters in the United States and Canada are expected to offer "fan screenings," according to Netflix.
While there is no definitive list of which theaters are holding showings, multiple theater chains, local cinemas, and ticketing companies already have information about the showings online, including Cinemark, Fandango and Regal.
How do I get tickets to watch 'Stranger Things 5: The Finale'?
Tickets became available on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 8 a.m. PT/10 a.m. CT.
"Stranger Things" fans can find tickets by searching by zip code and purchasing seats at the theater closest to them for showings either on Dec. 31 or Jan. 1, 2026.
Ticket prices appear to vary, and some are listed online as "concessions vouchers," meaning they include a seat for the movie and count toward food purchases at concession stands.
How long is the finale?
The finale is expected to be about two hours long, but multiple theaters list a two-hour and 30-minute runtime for the final episode.
The movie listing also includes a synopsis that could hint toward the ending, though those details are likely to stay under wraps until the premiere on New Year's Eve:
"The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time."
