Two-time state cross country medalist Ana Bondy of Carlisle High School finished seventh Sunday at the Brooks Northeast Cross Country Championships in Boston.
Bondy placed seventh in the Phil Zodda Championship Girls Race in a time of 17:31.2, which lowered her personal best time by 17 seconds.
Bondy’s performance earned the Thundering Herd senior a spot in the Brooks XC National Championships in San Diego on Saturday, Dec. 13.
Sunday’s regional races in Boston included runners from Pensylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York,Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington, D.C.
Top-placed runners from each region earned a spot in the upcoming nationals race.
Bondy, who finished third in the state in Class 3A, in addition to gold
