Gov. Mike Braun is scheduled to be the keynote speaker Wednesday when the Central Midwest Carpenters Union holds a groundbreaking ceremony for a Warsaw training facility.
The union, which represents more than 37,000 professional tradespeople 36 locals in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, is an affiliate of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters.
The new training center represents the union's investment in current and future local apprentices, local businesses and the state of Indiana, a news release said.
Derek Dodd, the director of Indiana for the carpenters union, local officials and about two dozen apprentices and 30 high school students are expected to be at the groundbreaking. It is scheduled for 10 to 11 a.m. at 2300 Hidden Lake Drive.
