MISSISSIPPI — Giving Tuesday, the annual global day of generosity that encourages charitable giving after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, is worth thinking about this year, as so many non-profit organizations are struggling to keep the doors open.
Launched in 2012, Giving Tuesday has grown into one of the most important fundraising days of the year for nonprofits. Organizations spend the day highlighting their missions on social media, hosting virtual fundraisers and urging supporters to contribute before the end of the year.
