A woman killed blocks away from the route for the Original Lady & Men Buckjumpers annual second-line parade over the weekend was identified as 26-year-old Destiny Dunn by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office Tuesday.
Dunn, of Baton Rouge, was shot at Washington Avenue and Magnolia Street in Central City over an hour after the parade ended Sunday. Video circulating on social media showed Dunn inside a car after she was shot.
NOPD officers who were assigned to the parade route responded to the shooting at around 5:17 p.m.
A 16-year-old boy and 29 year-old man were also found wounded nearby. Police said they were in stable condition in the hours after they were shot.
Witnesses said the shooting sent people who were still near the route running.
The investigation was ongoing as of Tues
