ASHBURN, Va. — A 34-year-old woman has died after she was hit by a bus on Monday evening in Ashburn. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is still investigating exactly what happened.
According to a spokesperson for the sheriff's office, deputies were first called to Croson Lane just northeast of the intersection of Moorsefield Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. Once on scene, responding deputies learned the crash involved a Loudoun County transit bus. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Deputies have identified the woman as Alyssa Kakol of Purcellville.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office says the crash investigation remains active. They ask anyone who may have information or may have witnessed the crash to
