UNO baseball to host an annual tournament named after legendary coach Ron Maestri

UNO announced that it will host an annual Division I baseball tournament at Maestri Field in New Orleans beginning in 2026.

The tournament was named the ‘Maestri Classic’ in honor of legendary UNO baseball coach Ron Maestri. UNO partnered with New Orleans & Company to host the 2026 tournament, with play beginning on Friday, Feb. 20 and concluding Sunday, Feb. 22.

UL-Monroe is among the inaugural ‘Maestri Classic’ participants along with a pair of out-of-state programs in Northern Kentucky and Alabama A&M.
