PAPILLION, Neb. (WOWT) - This weekend, the Arthritis Foundation Nebraska Chapter is hosting the annual Jingle Bell Run .
It’s happening on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Papillion Landing. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. and the races will kick off at 9:00 a.m.
John Spidle is the adult arthritis honoree for the run. He has Rheumatoid Arthritis.
“When I was in 8th grade, I thought it was just initial growing pains, stuff that was coming up that I was getting a little slower, my joints ached,” Spidle said. “I ended up going to Children’s Hospital, and through some trial and error, they ended up finding I had rheumatoid arthritis.”
After taking medication and making changes to his diet, Spidle said he was able to live life as a normal kid again.
