Detroit — The Red Wings are doing everything they can to stay in the wildly competitive standings in the NHL's Eastern Conference.

The Grand Rapids Griffins continue to be successful at an almost ridiculous rate, owning an astounding 16-1-0-1 record and earning 33 of a possible 36 points heading into their next game, Wednesday at home against Cleveland.
