One of the 10 men who escaped from the New Orleans jail in May faces a trial this week on separate charges in St. Tammany Parish.

Antoine Massey, 33, faces charges in St. Tammany of second-degree rape, second-degree kidnapping and domestic abuse battery involving strangulation, court records show. The offenses are listed as having occurred in November 2024.

Massey pleaded not guilty to the charges in September.

The jury in his case was seated late Monday at the St. Tammany courthouse in Covington, WDSU reports . Massey has also been charged with violating a protective order, a misdemeanor.

At the time of the May escape from the New Orleans jail, Massey was being held in New Orleans on charges of domestic abuse and theft of a motor vehicle.
