Borussia Dortmund have made clear their desire to extend Chelsea loanee Aaron Anselmino’s stay at the German club beyond the end of the season.

Anselmino joined Chelsea from Boca Juniors for £15millon in the summer of 2024 , spending six months back on loan at the Argentine club before his loan was cut short last season.

The 20-year-old did not make any league appearances last season, but made a brief cameo appearance in the Club World Cup and a pre-season friendly with Bayer Leverkusen before he was sent on loan to Borussia Dortmund.

The highly-rated defender endured a tough start to life in Germany , with a muscular injury after his debut ruling him out of action for almost two months.
