The doors are open for the latest affordable housing lottery in Manhattan , a beautiful new co-op building in the heart of Chelsea .

The building is rooted in history, dating back to 1976 when four long-neglected buildings were seized by the city for tax foreclosure. Now, they’ve been transformed into a new chapter of affordable housing.

The original tenements at 201–207 7th Avenue were eventually demolished, making way for a nine-story residential building at 170 West 22nd Street .

A housing lottery has now opened for 21 middle-income co-op units , with prices ranging from $385,865 for studios to $451,600 for two-bedrooms .
