Three female gorillas arrive at the San Antonio Zoo for first time in 35 years.
The three gorillas, Andi, Merry and Anaka, recently completed the move to the San Antonio Zoo in Texas, from Zoo Atlanta in Georgia, as part of the Gorilla species survival plan.
This is the first time in 35 years that gorillas have been seen in the San Antonio Zoo.
In collaboration with Zoo Atlanta, which will bolster conservation efforts for critically endangered western lowland gorillas and support the opening of the zoo’s newest habitat, Congo Falls.
Congo Falls will open on December 13, 2025, and will be home to seven Western Lowland gorillas.
