OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - The annual holiday parade in downtown Oshkosh won’t take place this year due to dangerously cold temperatures in the forecast.

In a statement from the city, Downtown Oshkosh Business Improvement District (BID) announced Tuesday that the Oshkosh Holiday Parade has been canceled for December 4 due to dangerously cold weather conditions forecasted for parade day.

The Downtown Oshkosh BID says forecasts show temperatures and wind chills falling well below safe levels for extended outdoor activity. Many parade units—including youth groups, marching bands, volunteers, and families, as well as public service professionals—would face significant risk of cold-related health issues.
