TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A Toledo man discovered a dead body while checking on people experiencing homelessness on Sunday on Madison Avenue.

Geo Washington Jr. was walking on Madison Avenue when he found someone lying on the ground, unresponsive. Washington Jr. said he panicked and called for help.

When crews from the Toledo Fire Department arrived, they pronounced the man dead. According to the police report, officials believe he was homeless.

“As I was looking back there, I had seen what looked like was a body back there. I proceeded to walk all the way to the back of the building and that’s where I saw a body froze,” Washington Jr. said.
