One of the fiercest Christmas debates has finally been answered – whether Die Hard is an official holiday movie or not?

In a survey of 2,000 by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), the UK's public resoundingly rejected the idea it is a Christmas film.

44 per cent did not believe Die Hard to be a Christmas film, while only 38 per cent did see it as one.

17 per cent remained undecided, while 5 per cent of people chose Die Hard as their favourite Christmas film.

However, there was a definitive film chosen - Home Alone.

One in five (20 per cent) of those surveyed chose it as their favourite Christmas watch, while nearly one in 10 (9 per cent) chose the romantic comedy Love Actuall
