A bill has been filed in the Indiana General Assembly that would pave the way for a casino in Allen County.
Rep. Craig Snow, R-22nd, introduced House Bill No. 1038 on Monday, and it has been referred to the House Committee on Public Policy.
The legislation would amend the state's existing rules on gaming, adding an inland casino in Allen County to the list of allowed casino license locations.
Language proposed for insertion in the law would dictate the process for allowing an Allen County casino, including requiring the local city or county governing body to approve allowing betting before the state's gaming commission put out a call for applications.
The Indiana Gaming Commission would review submissions, which must include specified information, and decide which company would receive
