A third arrest has been made in a homicide investigation from December 2022 in which a 21-year-old was killed during an attempted robbery.

Charles Aites, 26, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of first-degree murder for his involvement in the death of Timothy Chapman, 21.

The killing occurred shortly after 7 p.m. the evening of Dec. 20, 2022, at the Broadmoor Plantation apartments in the 10000 block of Florida Blvd.

Detectives believe Chapman was shot during a robbery attempt at the complex.

Two others, Shaylea Thompson and Jeremiah Hayes , have been previously arrested for their involvement in this case, according to a release from BRPD. Court records show both were indicted in this case for robbery and for principal to murder.
