A 32-year-old Kitchener man was found dead in an SUV after in what police believe was a “targeted” late-night shooting in the Country Hills area in south Kitchener.

Waterloo Regional Police said they are searching for suspects in the Monday shooting, which occurred at about 10 p.m. in the area of Century Hill and Country Hill drives.

The man was found deceased with gunshot wounds inside an SUV that had hit a tree on the boulevard in front of 132 Century Hill Dr., said Const. Melissa Quarrie, a Waterloo Regional Police public information officer. Quarrie wouldn’t say how many rounds were fired, but did confirm there was more than one wound on his body.

Quarrie also couldn’t say if bullets only hit the SUV and the man, and not homes on the section of street where the shooting occurred.
