A recent audit by the Ulster County Comptroller’s Office revealed significant disparities in how vendors fulfilled reporting requirements under five constituent service contracts.

These contracts are an agreement between a government entity—such as a county or city—and an outside organization (usually a nonprofit, private company, or individual provider) to deliver services directly to members of the public, often targeting specific community needs.

“It’s essential for the county to closely monitor these programs—not just to ensure public money is spent wisely, but to make sure residents actually receive the quality services they’re promised,” wrote comptroller March Gallagher in a press release.
