The holiday season will mark the end for several Yankee Candle locations in the U.S. and Canada as the candle maker’s parent company is making some changes. On Monday, Newell Brands -- the parent company of Yankee Candle -- announced it plans to lay off 900 people starting this month.
The company plans to then close 20 stores in January 2026, but it is unclear which Yankee Candle locations will be closing.
The layoffs represent approximately 10% of professional and clerical employees in the company. The stores that will close account for roughly 1% of the company’s total sales, according to a press release.
