PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Body-camera footage from Port St. Lucie Police Department gives some indication of the firefight that led to an officer and the suspect being shot.

The agency says Sgt. Erik Levasseur is still in critical condition at an area hospital after the incident on SW Lake Park Drive, just west of I-95 and Tradition Parkway Monday evening.

According to reporting by WPLG Local 10 , six officers from the agency were responding to an apparent neighbor dispute involving a mental health call, when they found the suspect holding what the police chief called an assault rifle.
