A petition calling for the restoration of direct bus service to the Grace Hospital and the Assiniboine Clinic resurfaced at a city council meeting this week, raising questions about communication between residents and city officials.
During a transit discussion at Thursday’s meeting, Mayor Scott Gillingham asked Coun. Janice Lukes, if she was aware of the bus stops located on Sturgeon Road beside the Grace Hospital. Lukes confirmed she knew the stops existed, though neither she nor the mayor noted that they are served only by the FX3 rapid line — a service that requires riders to transfer at Woodhaven Boulevard to continue east on Portage Avenue.
