Cold temperatures and an overnight freeze have caused delays for many schools in Western North Carolina on the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 2.

Areas in the North Carolina mountains were hit by icy conditions on the evening of Dec. 1 into the morning Dec. 2, causing delays at schools in higher elevations and making it difficult for some buses to go down some of the roads that often see icy conditions before others.

Here's the latest school delays and warnings for the Asheville area and other communities in Western North Carolina as of 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 2.
