LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A domestic violence shelter in Central Arkansas has received $60K from Purina and the nonprofit RedRover as part of its Purple Leash Project grants, aimed at protecting domestic violence survivors and their pets.
Women & Children First: The Center Against Family Violence in Pulaski County will use the funding to build a new Safe Paws kennel with a grooming station and secure outdoor play area.
With fewer than 20% of U.S. domestic violence shelters able to accommodate pets, these grants help make sure survivors don’t have to leave their pets behind.
