A Raceland man is dead after he was shot in the head during a hunting trip in Lafourche Parish.
On Nov. 29, deputies received a call of an accidental shooting around 4 p.m. on Bayou Folse Road in Raceland. Advertisement
According to deputies, Garret Verdun, 45, of Raceland, was hunting with a friend when a rifle discharged.
Verdun's hunting partner told agents that they were walking to their hunting spots when they crossed a cattle guard.
Verdun then passed the rifle to his partner when it went off, resulting in his death.
No other information has been provided at this time.
