VANCOUVER, Wash. — One Vancouver family experienced a difficult Thanksgiving this year, after they say a family member was detained by federal immigration agents while delivering food on Thanksgiving morning.
Luis Ixchop was stopped by federal agents around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday. He was out helping his partner of over 10 years, Brenda Coronado, deliver online food orders.
The two had stopped at a donut shop off of Northeast 117th Avenue in Vancouver and were driving out of the plaza when they were pulled over.
Coronado said she told federal agents she had a green card, but she did not have it on her at the moment.
