JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Two Missouri lawmakers filed legislation that would criminalize abortion as murder if passed.

The bills directly challenge Missouri’s Amendment 3, which voters approved in November 2024. If passed, the legislation would declare the voter-approved abortion amendment null and void.

Senator Mike Moon (R-Ash Grove) and Representative Burt Whaley (R-Clever) have now introduced the Missouri Prenatal Equal Protection Act . The legislation would ban all abortions statewide and charge both patients and providers with murder.
