ALEXANDRIA — Attention business owners in the Alexandria area: If you receive a telemarketing call from a company that offers to sell you a plaque as part of the "Best of the Best" promotion, it's a scam.

The Echo Press, which completed the "Best of the Best" promotion a few weeks ago, is not affiliated with any company that is trying to sell plaques.

The Echo Press has already given authentic award badges to the winning businesses free of charge.

Businesses that have any questions about the "Best of the Best" awards should contact their Echo Press sales representative.
