MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - The Wisconsin Department of Justice says tips to the state’s Speak Up, Speak Out threat reporting hotline were up 30% in the last school year.
The annual impact report from the Office of School Safety on Tuesday said Speak Up, Speak Out (SUSO) received almost 7,000 tips in the 2024-25 school year.
That follows a 40% increase in the 2023-24 school year.
Speak Up, Speak Out can be reached by phone at 1-800-MYSUSO-1 or online at speakup.widoj.gov .
“The significant increase in tips and the rich dialogue that many students have with SUSO staff indicate that SUSO has earned a reputation among youth as a safe, accessible, and credible place to report concerns,” the Office of School Safety (OSS) said.
