CHARLOTTE — The Panthers had to make a move Tuesday to fit Tre'von Moehrig back onto the 53-man roster, and they did it with another defensive back.

The team waived cornerback Kalen King on Tuesday.

He was signed to the active roster from the practice squad last Saturday and played seven special teams snaps Sunday against the Rams.

King was a seventh-round pick of the Packers last year out of Penn State and spent the year on their practice squad. After he was released this year in cuts to the 53, the Panthers signed him to their practice squad on Aug. 28.

Moehrig's one-week suspension ended this week, and he'll be back on the field next week when they return from the bye.
