TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Cam Brown was a standout athlete at Florida High in Tallahassee. He was a wrestler and a football player, who signed a scholarship to play football at Western Carolina. Brown was diagnosed with bone cancer his senior year, and in November of 2017, he passed away, but his memory has been kept alive through others.
It’s a promise Florida High head wrestling coach Clay Allen made to Brown shortly before he passed away, and Allen has delivered.
This weekend, for the 8th year, the Cam Brown Seminole Classic returns to Florida High, where 12 teams will compete over two days. One wrestler chosen by Brown’s family will be named most outstanding wrestler for the tournament.
For Allen, it’s a chance to share who Brown was with others and fulfill the promise he made almo
