STAMPS, Ark. — Arkansas State Police is investigating after a Texas man wanted on multiple felony warrants was shot and killed during a gunfire exchange with state troopers.

According to reports, officials located 40-year-old Robert Foster of Texarkana, Texas, who was wanted by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Lewisville Police Department for outstanding felony warrants and had previously made threats against law enforcement officers.

Officers attempted a traffic stop on Foster after he left a business in Stamps. They pursued him into Nevada County, where his vehicle became disabled on a logging road in the Falcon community.

As law enforcement officers attempted to negotiate with Foster, the ASP SWAT Team was requested to assist.
