PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Transportation has now reached the halfway point of its massive project to widen the Loop 202 Santan Freeway.
The Loop 202 work, which is in the southeast Valley and began in August in 2024, has an expected end date of spring 2027, according to ADOT.
The purpose of the project is to address growing traffic demands by widening an 8-mile stretch of the Loop 202 between the Loop 101 Price Freeway in Chandler and Val Vista Drive in Gilbert.
