Drake Maye is impressing everyone these days, including one of his former Patriots teammates.
The sophomore quarterback was excellent Monday night, completing 77.4% of his passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-15 home win over the New York Giants. As Maye and New England authored their 10th straight victory , former Patriots linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley weighed in on social media .
“Nothin (Maye) does surprises me,” Bentely wrote on X. “U can tell when a player is ‘one of them.’ “
Bentley played seven seasons for the Patriots, including in 2024 when a torn pectoral muscle limited him to just two games. Nevertheless, Maye clearly made a strong impression on Bentley throughout his rookie campaign.
Bentley went unsigned last offseason before joining the Pittsburgh Steelers
