Arkansas State Police SWAT team members shot and killed a man around 10 p.m. Monday after he opened fire on police during a four-hour standoff on a logging road in Nevada County, according to a news release from state police.
Robert Foster, 40, of Texarkana, Texas, came out of his vehicle shooting after state police negotiators attempted to persuade him to surrender, prompting SWAT officers to return fire, the release states. No officers were wounded in the shooting.
Around 6 p.m. Monday in Stamps, Foster had fled from officers with the Lafayette County sheriff's office and Lewisville police who sought to arrest him on felony warrants and tried to pull him over, the release said.
