A long-lost Baroque painting has finally been sold.

For more than four centuries, the painting — Christ on the Cross by Flemish Baroque artist Peter Paul Rubens — was considered lost until it was recently discovered in a townhouse in Paris, per NPR , HuffPost and CBS News . On Sunday, Nov. 30, more than 400 years after its creation, the painting sold at the Osenat auction house in Versailles for 2.3 million euros, or $2.7 million.
