BROOKLYN — BROOKLYN NETS forward Michael Porter Jr. says team officials have asked him to avoid provocative podcast topics after a string of viral comments drew unwanted attention, according to Coed. Porter, 27, has sparked criticism for remarks on women, dating, vaccines and the WNBA on his “Curious Mike” show and other athlete-run podcasts. He told the Ball in the Family podcast that the organization “would appreciate it” if he steered clear of sensitive subjects, calling his past WNBA comments an example.
Porter said he’s “For the most part I’m chilling, I’m not trying to say nothing crazy no more,” as the Nets push him to keep the focus on basketball.
