BOROUGHWIDE — KWANZAA CRAWL returns Dec. 26 for its ninth year, bringing more than 4,000 participants to over 15 Black-owned bars and restaurants across Brooklyn, according to BKReader. Organizers say the one-day event, which generated more than $500,000 in 2024, has contributed over $3 million to local businesses since launching in 2016. This year’s celebration aims to deepen economic support amid rising costs for working families.
Co-founders Krystal Payne and Kerry Coddett emphasized community strength and cooperative economics as the Crawl expands with a BUY BLACK holiday market at the Brooklyn Navy Yard on Dec. 20 and 21, and new winter discounts through BLACK PAGES.
